The New Tahoe is Bringing Change to Chicago

Expect Upgrades to America’s Favorite SUV: The 2014 Chevy Tahoe

Who would have ever though that you soon be seeing a 2014 Chevy Tahoe in Chicago? Well, it’s still under testing, but it’s only a matter time before it’s released to show room floors. The full-size GMC made crossover vehicle has been a long time favorite of Tahoe lovers for years. For a vehicle of its size, it’s considered one of the most fuel efficient SUVs in its class.

What can you expect to see in the upcoming 2014 Tahoe? GMC is keeping tight reins on the details for its rugged people-mover, but there is some word about an 8-speed automatic transmission and some V8 power. Could we see three different powertrain options? A 5.3L, 5.5 L and a 6.2L engine? That remains to be seen. Despite no official release date or pricing, we can reasonably expect the new Tahoe share a lot of the same features as the current one.

The current Tahoe sports three trims: LS, LT and LTZ, each having their own features and package options. While the Tahoe is an eight passenger vehicle, the LTZ edition carries seven and offers a Bose Centerpoint surround sound system with 10 speakers. The basic LS version has the option of opening up to a total of nine passengers.

The Tahoe has a humongous 26 gallon fuel tank that gets 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. Ultimately, a full tank of gas can get you about as far as 546 miles on the open road before having to fill up again, all on a V8 engine powered by a 6-speed automatic. What more can you ask for?
